Hefina Williams - Reporting Radiographer

During my career as a diagnostic radiographer since 2013 I have always enjoyed teaching, mentorship and developing and delivering materials that make learning easier for others. I saw this opportunity to join the Regional Imaging and Diagnostics Academy as a reporting radiographer educator as a chance to share my knowledge, experience and saved teaching cases with a multiprofessional workforce that requires rapid expansion to meet future service demands. I am excited to be part of a team building shared and sustainable regional educational resources through collaboration and best use of digital platforms.

Clare Moody - Lead Research Radiographer

Other Roles: Superintendent Research Radiographer, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust. National memberships - ARSAC committee & ScoR Nuclear Medicine Advisory group.
I have worked as a Radiographer in the North East for 25 years, with the last 13 dedicated to Radiology research.
Radiology imaging is known for its supporting role in many research studies but little is known about research performed and led by Radiology staff. This regional role is a fantastic opportunity to educate, advise and support all aspects of Radiology led research. We aim to promote the excellent research that radiology staff are doing throughout NENC.

Vicky Rendall - Administrator
Role: Clinical Academy Administrator
I have worked in admin for a number of years and enjoy the supportive role this provides within individual teams. I'm looking forward to the variety of tasks working across the region and assisting the development of the Imaging Academy whilst working alongside lots of new people.

Eve Johnson - Business and Training Manager
Role: Academy Business and Training Manager
Other roles: Cadaveric Theatre Manager: Newcastle Surgical Training Centre
I was keen to take on this role because it brings together my passion for education, workforce development, and healthcare leadership. Having spent several years working in medical and surgical training, progressing from technician to Theatre Manager while gaining a degree in Healthcare Management and achieving Chartered Manager status, I have seen first-hand the value of high-quality training in developing confident, skilled healthcare professionals. This role provides an opportunity to build on that experience by working collaboratively with the Academy team to develop and deliver impactful training programmes. I am particularly motivated by the chance to support and advance education and training opportunities for the regional radiology multi-professional workforce, helping to strengthen skills, improve patient care, and contribute to the future sustainability of the profession.

Dr Naail Al Zuhir - Consultant Radiologist
Role: Lead for the Regional Imaging and Diagnostics Academy and Northern Radiology Academy.
Other roles: Consultant Radiologist with Head and Neck interest focused on Thyroid and Parathyroid imaging. Quality Training Programme Director in the School of Radiology.
Teaching and Training has always been my passion even during my training days and I joined the School of Radiology as the Quality Training Programme Director and the Lead for the Northern Radiology Academy within few years of my consultant career and with the introduction of the NENC Regional Imaging and Diagnostics Academy, the opportunity have risen for me to develop and expand my role to incorporate the multi-professional workforce training and development in the region embracing the ideals and aims of the NENC/NEYH Regional Imaging and Diagnostics Academy and Regional Imaging Network.
